Swimming at Hungerford Primary School
Children have swimming lessons during Year 3 and Year 5 at Hungerford Primary School and use the local leisure centre which is within walking distance of the school.
We currently ask for a voluntary contribution of £20 per child to help fund the use of an additional swimming coach so that the children have more opportunity to be in the water. Teaching staff are expected to act as assistants if required.
The aim is for every child to be able to swim at least 25 metres by the time they leave school. If a child cannot do this by the end of their lessons in Year 5, pupils will be given additional lessons during the summer term in Year 6.
